When it comes to subtitling, I realise how crucial the right balance between text and image is. ​
A good subtitle should almost go unnoticed, be read or understood intuitively and accompany the film’s spoken and edited rhythm. It’s about more than just rendering speech into text, in the same way that communication in film is about so much more than just words.
